Terms of Service
These terms cover buying and using every metal-sole app. We've kept them short and plain.
Who we are
metal-sole is the trading name of Matt Maher, an individual (sole proprietor) based in California, United States. "We" and "us" in these policies mean him. You can reach us at support@metal-sole.com.
Paddle is the merchant of record
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the merchant of record for all our orders: it takes your payment, charges any sales tax or VAT, sends your receipt and handles refunds. Your purchase is also covered by Paddle's buyer terms.
What you're buying
A licence key that unlocks an app's paid features, such as Agent Runway Pro. It's a one-time purchase, not a subscription: nothing renews, and you won't be charged again.
Prices are in US dollars, as shown on each app's page and at checkout. Paddle works out any sales tax or VAT at checkout, based on where you are.
Your key appears on screen as soon as checkout finishes, and arrives by email. If you lose it, we'll send it again.
The apps themselves are free to download. Agent Runway starts with 14 days of Pro, and its free features keep working afterwards, whether or not you buy.
Your licence
- A licence is personal: for one person, on all the Macs they use, for personal or work use.
- Please don't share or resell your key. Buying for several people? Buy one for each.
- You're buying the right to use the app, not the app itself. Please don't modify it to get around the licence check.
Updates
For now, your key covers every version we release, including future major versions. If that ever changes, it will change only for new purchases, and we'll say so here and on the app's page before you buy. Keys you already have keep what they cover.
Refunds
You can have a refund within 30 days, no questions asked: see the refund policy. When an order is refunded or charged back, its key is cancelled, and later versions of the app won't accept it.
Other companies' services
Some apps work with other companies' services. Agent Runway, for example, reads your usage through Claude Code and Codex. We're independent of Anthropic and OpenAI, and their services can change at any time, which may stop a feature working until we catch up.
No warranty
The apps are provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of fitness for a particular purpose. They show information from other services, which can be late or wrong, so please don't rely on them for anything critical. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid for the licence. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Changes, and the law
We may update these terms, and the effective date above shows when they last changed. The version in force when you bought applies to that purchase. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States. If you're a consumer, you also keep any protection the law where you live gives you.
